How to watch and interact with HelloW chat.

Watching Chat

To view a streamer's unified chat, go to:

hellow.chat/chat/{handle}

Replace {handle} with the streamer's HelloW handle. This page shows messages from all connected platforms (Kick, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube) in a single feed.

Chat Commands

HelloW supports special commands that viewers can type in any connected platform's chat. Commands start with a ? prefix.

Set Your Country Flag

?setflag <code>

Sets a country flag next to your name in the HelloW chat. Use a 2-letter country code.

  • Example: ?setflag us for United States
  • Example: ?setflag br for Brazil
  • Your flag is remembered across sessions
  • The command message is hidden from chat — only you see it

Sliding Text

?slide <text>

Makes your message scroll across the chat from right to left as a marquee effect.

Reverse Slide

?sride <text>

Same as slide but scrolls from left to right.

Display Settings

Click the gear icon in the chat header to customize your viewing experience.

  • Alternating line backgrounds — adds subtle background stripes for readability
  • Show timestamps — displays the time each message was sent
  • Show country flags — shows viewer flags set via ?setflag
  • Show platform badges — shows which platform each message came from
  • Show system messages — toggles sub/raid/event notifications
  • Jumbo emotes — makes emote-only messages display larger
  • Clickable links — makes URLs in messages clickable
  • Slide effect — enables or disables the slide/sride animations
  • Font size — adjustable text size

Settings are saved locally in your browser.

Emotes

HelloW supports emotes from multiple providers out of the box:

  • 7TV — global and per-channel emotes
  • BetterTTV (BTTV) — global and per-channel emotes
  • FrankerFaceZ (FFZ) — global and per-channel emotes
  • Twitch native — subscriber emotes and global Twitch emotes
  • Kick / YouTube native — platform-specific emoji and emotes

Jumbo emotes: When a message contains only emotes (no text), they render at a larger size. A single emote displays at giant size (4x), 2-5 emotes display at large size (3x). Higher resolution images are automatically used for jumbo emotes.

Explore Hub

The Explore page lets you discover streamers using HelloW.

  • Live streamers appear first with stream thumbnails, categories, and titles
  • Each card shows which platforms the streamer is connected to
  • Click any card to jump directly into their unified chat

How to set up and use HelloW for your streams.

Getting Started

  1. Go to hellow.chat/login and sign in with one of the supported platforms (Kick, TikTok, Twitch, or YouTube)
  2. Choose a unique HelloW handle — this becomes your chat URL
  3. Connect additional platforms from the dashboard
  4. Enable Chat Relay for each platform you want to unify

Dashboard

The dashboard is where you manage your HelloW account.

  • Connect platforms — link your Kick, TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube accounts
  • Chat Relay toggle — enable or disable chat relay per platform
  • Edit handle — change your HelloW handle at any time
  • Live status — see which platforms detect you as currently live
  • Widget configurator — customize and preview your OBS widget with live settings

Streamer Profile

Customize how you appear on the Explore page and community sections.

  • Display picture — pick your avatar from any connected platform
  • Display name — choose which platform name to show (independently from the picture)
  • Both are set from the dashboard Profile section
  • If not set, HelloW automatically picks from your connected platforms

Sending Messages

As the streamer, you can send messages directly from your HelloW chat page to any connected platform.

  • A chat input appears at the bottom of your chat page when you're logged in
  • Select which platform to send to using the platform picker
  • Supports Kick, Twitch, and YouTube (TikTok does not have a public send API)
  • Messages are sent as your platform account — they appear in the native chat
  • The message will be picked up by the gateway and appear in your unified chat like any other message

Note: You may need to re-link your platform accounts to grant the required write permissions.

OBS Widget Mode

Use the Widget tab on your dashboard to configure and copy your OBS browser source URL.

Widget mode features:

  • Transparent background — blends into your scene
  • Hides the header bar, settings, and scrollbar
  • Adds text shadow for visibility on stream overlays
  • All display settings are configurable via URL parameters

Available parameters: timestamps, platformBadges, countryFlags, systemMessages, slideEffect, clickableLinks, jumboEmotes, transparentBg, fontSize

Tip: Use the Widget tab on the dashboard to toggle settings visually and copy the generated URL.

Live Detection

When you enable Chat Relay for a platform, HelloW automatically detects when you go live and connects to your chat.

  • Platforms are checked approximately every 30 seconds
  • No manual action needed — just go live and HelloW handles the rest
  • Your live/offline status is shown on the dashboard
  • Supported for all four platforms: Kick, TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube

Platform Events

HelloW captures platform events and displays them as system messages in your unified chat:

Twitch

  • Subscriptions, resubscriptions, and gift subs
  • Community gift sub bombs
  • Raids with viewer counts
  • Channel point redemptions (with custom points icon)
  • Predictions (start, lock, and results)
  • Announcements
  • Viewer milestones (watch streaks)
  • Chat mode changes (sub-only, emote-only, followers-only, slow mode, unique chat)
  • Timeouts and bans

YouTube

  • Super Chats and Super Stickers with amounts
  • Member badges

Kick

  • Subscriptions
  • Gifted subscriptions
  • Raids / hosts
  • Chat clears
  • Bans and timeouts

Moderation

Moderation actions taken on any platform are reflected in the unified chat:

  • Timeouts and bans — the user's messages are purged from the chat feed
  • Message deletions — individual removed messages are noted
  • Chat clears — moderator clears are applied to the unified view

Your Chat URL

Share your unified chat page with your community:

hellow.chat/chat/{handle}

Anyone can open this link to view your combined chat from all platforms in real time. No login required for viewers.
